Fight to the end…
Many interesting locations along the shores of Tasmanian lakes can only be accessed by water. There is usually lack of suitable roads and attempt to hike trough the dense scrub surrounding them can prove to be very hard going if not impossible for access. That’s why using a kayak can save the day and make discovery of these locations much easier.
There was something about this small tree with its exposed roots above the waterline that attracted my attention. I think it was because I understood its struggle and I could also feel the energy radiating from it. To me the small tree was exhibiting obvious determination to hold on and willingness to fight to the end despite the hopelessness of situation. Its predicament is something very familiar and reflective of our human condition. The miserable weather and relentless rain presented me with a challenge to photograph it however it also contributed by providing the matching mood for this image.
